How to play Switch games on mobile?

Introducing Skyline, an emulator for playing Switch games on Android mobiles

Want to play Switch games on mobile? It wasn't possible until now. Good news, though, as Skyline, the first Nintendo Switch emulator on mobile, is now available on Android. Let's take a look at how to download it and what Switch games you can access with your phone.

Nintendo games can already be played on mobile through NES, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64 or 3DS emulators. However, the Switch's newer architecture has given emulator developers a hard time.

The Skyline team has just achieved this feat by making available to players the first emulator that allows them to play Switch games on mobile. To achieve this result, they received help from the teams of Yuzu and Ryujinx, the two famous emulators of Switch games on PC.

Skyline has been designed specifically for Android and an iOS version is not on the cards. The developers prefer to focus on the stability of this version and the depth of the catalogue of compatible games.

To download Skyline and play Switch games on mobile, visit the emulator's Discord. After accepting the server rules, type the command ".rl ftx1" in the bot-commands channel to get theAPK link. You will also need to be connected to a GitHub account to download it.

Games available on Skyline

In development for just over a year, Skyline has recently managed to make their first Switch games playable on Android. So far, only Sonic Mania and Celeste are working properly.

The third game that the teams are currently working on and which should be available soon is the excellent Super Mario Odyssey, one of the flagship games of Nintendo's console. At the time of writing, the game launches to the menu, but fails to load the game.

Even though there are only a few playable titles at the moment, there will be many more in the coming months. Who knows, maybe we'll soon be able to play all Switch games on mobile, like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario 3D World or even Luigi's Mansion 3 on Android. That would be great!
