A mobile PUBG tournament exclusively for women

The place of women inesport is still a thorny issue. Whileesport is, in some respects, more inclusive than traditional sports, with biological differences taking a back seat, mixed competitions remain a rarity. In order to advance theesport women's game, some choose to develop women's leagues, even if it means locking them into a secondary scene. If there is no miracle solution for women, PUBG mobile has decided to develop this idea by organising its second edition of the PUBG Mobile Pro League ladies tournament. This tournament for women will take place alongside the main event and is open to all.

An open tournament with qualifying rounds

All teams can participate in the tournament, regardless of their origin. They have until August 8th to register. However, manyAsian teams (Indonesia, India, Vietnam...) are expected, especially because the Western PUBG scene is not very active... It is even less active when it comes to mobile PUBG.

Although the tournament is open, there are only a maximum of 128 places which will be dispatched in 8 groups of 16 in the qualifying rounds (11 and 12 August). After a trimming, only 14 teams will get their ticket to the final.

Women make progress on PUBG mobile

Women's participation in PUBG mobile is growing, as it is in other mobile games. In Season 1 of the PMPL Indonesia Ladies there were only 16 participating female teams that were invited. Moving to an open tournament with 128 teams shows that the scene is alive and growing. There is more competition and the event can no longer be described as a simple show-match. Whatever the level of the teams, there will be a fight for top 1.

However, the scene is still much less developed than the so-called mixed scene, which is actually male. Indonesia is the only country that has women's competitions on PUBG mobile at the moment. And even then, it's impossible to compare scenes. The PUBG Mobile Indonesia National Championship 2020 had a main tournament with nearly $40,000 cash-prize. The separate women's tournament only had $1,900. A much less significant sum, which however does not detract from the performance of the winning team, The Prime Snaky.
