It is now possible to play Fortnite in 90 FPS on mobile! Until now, you could only play this Battle Royale with a maximum of 60 frames per second on your phone.
From now on, the graphics will be even more faithful and the display definition even better. The mobile gaming experience becomes more enjoyable and approaches the quality of the PC version.
For the moment, this transition of Fortnite to 90 FPS is exclusive to the Chinese brand One Plus. The latter has, in fact, signed a partnership with Epic Games, the publisher of Fortnite. Only the One Plus 8 and One Plus 8 Pro models are concerned, as older models will remain limited to 60 FPS.
The latest One Plus smartphones cost between 500 and 800 euros. Note that these phones do not have a special chip, as they use the widely used Snapdragon 865. Therefore, it is likely that other smartphones will eventually offer the same performance. In the meantime, other players will have to wait. In 2018, the switch to 60 FPS had also been launched in several stages: first on iOS and then on Android.
Experienced gamers will have heard complaints about FPS drops. The human eye needsat least 24 FPS to perceive a moving image, which is the bare minimum. The more FPS you have, the smoother the transitions and the higher the quality of the graphics. This makes the gaming experience more enjoyable and increases the performance of the players.
If you compare two players using two different smartphones, the one with the higher FPS may well be the first to notice an important detail, such as the appearance of a projectile. For some static or low-dynamic games, this is an unimportant detail. Fortnite, however, relies heavily on players' reactions and their ability to adapt to situations. The increase in FPS therefore gives a small advantage. It combines the useful with the pleasant.
