Gwent: Rogue Mage, the single-player expansion for TCG The Witcher, released

Gwent: Rogue Mage released

CD Projekt has announced Gwent: Rogue Mage release on iOS and Android. This is the first single-player expansion for Gwent, the card game based on The Witcher's universe. For the occasion, the gameplay has been redesigned to offer a unique experience. Let's discover the differences between this PvE version and the multiplayer.

A single-player version more accessible than PvP

The release of Gwent: Rogue Mage plunges us several hundred years with the birth of Geralt, the main protagonist of The Witcher saga. Accompany Alzur, a young mage whose ambition is to develop a weapon capable of permanently destroying the monsters that threaten the survival of humanity.

Gwent: Rogue Mage does not simply repeat the gameplay of Gwent. To make the game more accessible, the gameplay has been simplified. Thus, decks are specialised and cards are unlocked progressively to give players time to assimilate the specificities of each.

What's new for Gwent: Rogue Mage release

In terms of new features, Gwent: Rogue Mage release incorporates roguelike mechanisms. The map you play on is procedurally generated. When you lose, you have to start from the beginning on a new map.

However, each try makes you stronger as you unlock new cards to build up your deck and implement more and more elaborate strategies. The game's campaign is estimated to take 30 hours to complete, but there are several difficulty levels if you like a challenge.
