The new LOTR: Rise to War campaign

New LOTR Rise to War campaign and update

Fans of J.R.R. Tolkien's universe, you must be as eager as I am to discover the new series The Rings of Power which will be released in September. In the meantime, take the opportunity to explore the Middle Lands with the new LOTR: Rise to War campaign, entitled The War of the Ring.

The War of the Ring, the new campaign for LOTR: Rise to War

In the short teaser of the NetEase game update, we can see Cul-de-Sac, the house of Bilbo Baggins. The famous Hobbit is seen browsing through a book whose story he is telling us. This is an undisguised nod to the opening scene of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, which was also used in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, when Bilbo is writing the book.

This new story of The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War remains mysterious for the moment, but we already know that we will find Frodo, Aragorn, Gandalf and their adventurous companions.

The 4 new warlords

Alongside this new campaign for The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War, the War of the Ring update also introduces four new commanders.

  • Skalhelm, a former commander of the Westmen, who fell under the spell of one of the rings before becoming a Nazgûl.
  • Glasha, an Orc witch who can summon Crebains, Saruman's flying spies, to destabilise her enemies.
  • Treebeard, an extremely powerful Ent that synergises very well with Elves and Hobbits.
  • And finally, Falgin, an experienced and determined Dwarf who boosts the Dwarf armies of his allies.
