Mobile News Recap January 2022 n1

Check out the weekly recap of mobile gaming news on Android and iOS for the week of January 3rd to 9th, 2022! We'll let you read it all below. ⬇️

1️⃣ Turtle Rock Studios is currently developing Dead4Returns, a mobile game that takes much of the gameplay and graphics from Left 4 Dead or more recently Back 4 Blood. Homage or copy, it's hard to say what it is. However, if you like the universe of the shooting game in a post-apocalyptic world invaded by zombies, you will certainly be delighted to be able to test this Back 4 Blood mobile on Android.

2️⃣ For their part, TiMi Studios and EA also have their work cut out for them. Indeed, Need for Speed Online Mobile, the latest game in the famous licence in the works, was the subject of a small revelation this week (a revelation that seems to indicate a large-scale job). In a series of job postings on Tencent's website, it was revealed that the racing game will be a realistic open-world game on mobile.

3️⃣ The Genshin Impact 2.4: Ephemeral Colors in Flight update offers its players to choose from no less than 4 banners: Shenhe, Xiao, Ganyu and Zhongli. I know it's heartbreaking but you can't have them all, so you might as well focus on the core of your strategy. miHoYo's title also has a new area in Inazuma for you to snorkel through! Check out the list of all the events in this update 2.4 in our article.

4️⃣ Project: Arrival is shaping up to be the next SF title to watch on mobile. As well as exploring the universe after an interstellar war, you'll have to track down survivors, battle huge monsters and make the ruins of this decaying space your own by building your own home. Original weapons, neon and survival in a hostile environment are on the agenda for science fiction fans.

5️⃣ Since the "freeze" of license validation in China, the situation has only gotten worse. Remember, in July 2021, the Chinese government decided to "temporarily" halt the validation of new video games by its General Administration of Press, Publishing, Broadcasting, Film and Television for publication in its territory. Basically, both large and small studios and their publishers can no longer distribute their games in China without this certification. This week, Tianyancha (a company database) estimates that 14,000 video game-related companies, studios, their publishers and the brands that revolve around them, have gone out of business. And it looks like the Chinese government won't be getting things back to normal for a while.

6️⃣ Get ready for January 19 as it's time for Wild Rift 3.0 and its new patch. New heroes, terrain changes in Summoner's Rift, skins for Teemo, Tristana, Xin and others as well as details of the esport schedule for 2022 can be found in our patch notes article.

7️⃣ With CES in full swing and E3 cancelled, rogue cheaters and gamers are getting caught. It's been a bad week for a group of mobile PUBG cheats and hacks vendors that have been found guilty by German and US federal courts. As such, the group has been forced to pay $10 million in damages to Krafton and Tencent. This money will be reinvested in the two companies to develop better anti-cheat technologies. The hacker group must also disclose all of its cheat activities and methods and is of course "no longer allowed" to engage in illegal activities around PUBG mobile. For his part, some smartass thought it was a good idea to reveal to a buddy, who himself posted some gameplay from Genshin Impact 2.5 on Reddit... Now the player is banned from Genshin Impact and miHoYo is suing him for $78,000 because his ID was visible and they were able to track him down. A word of advice, don't do this. Write it down in your good resolutions: don't shit on the developers of a game I love, especially if it has more financial power than some countries in the world.

Be sure to check out the latest mobile game releases to see what's new! See you next week for fresh news on your favourite mobile games. 😃
