Mobile Games News Review | Week of 10-16 January 2022

Check out the weekly recap of mobile gaming news on Android and iOS for the week of January 10th to 16th, 2022! We'll let you read it all below. ⬇️

1️⃣ To start off this week's news, let's stop for a moment to look at the release of Lost Light. Available for pre-registration for a while, this quality copy of Escape from Tarkov's gameplay makes its debut on Android. Don't expect a fast-paced FPS, instead you'll have to take your time to explore the area, listen out for your competitors and find the extraction point.

2️⃣ The biggest buyout in video game history has taken place: the Zynga buyout. Take-Two, which owns Rock Star Games Studios among other things, made this deal with Zynga for $12.7 billion. The purpose of the buyout is to use Zynga's expertise in mobile creation to bring Take-Two's successful licences to Android and iOS smartphones. This comes at a time when, by 2021, revenues generated by the mobile gaming market have surpassed those of the PC and console gaming market combined. This means that the door is wide open for Take-Two, which is primarily looking to grab a piece of the pie.

3️⃣ The Chinese version of Arena of Valor gets a social note. In addition, the Honor of Kings tournament continues in this mid-January with the playoffs. Find all the information about this credit score, the management of toxicity on HoK and the Honor of Kings Challenger Cup in our detailed article.

4️⃣ On Reddit, Niantic and Media Research Lab offered POGO players the opportunity to participate in a series of interviews to gather players' opinions on Raids and the impact of this game mechanic on their overall experience. It's nice to see publishers and developers taking an interest in the user experience by asking players directly, so you can expect some changes to Pokémon GO Raids or even additions in the coming months.

5️⃣ Forget dinosaur management games on PC or mobile: Jurassic World Primal Ops is not that kind of game. Instead, you'll play as a character in charge of saving dinosaurs from the clutches of poachers around the globe. In return, the dinosaurs will thank you by joining your team in a gacha system and will participate in the fight against the poachers by taking part in battles with their active skills.

6️⃣ SW Sky Arena 's recent patch updates the rune management interface. In addition to a tweaked interface, this update's optimization of Runes Summoners War management allows for automatic selection of runes as well as a save if you wish to revert your build.

7️⃣ This December should see the release of Avatar Reckoning, a shooter MMO set on Pandora, whose release should coincide with the release of the second film in the cinema. Developed by Archosaur Games, we can expect a quality production since the studio has already worked on titles such as Dragon Raja or Noah's Heart.

Be sure to check out the latest mobile game releases to see what's new! See you next week for fresh news on your favourite mobile games. 😃
