New mobile games and announcements

In terms of mobile game releases and announcements, expand your empire with Civilization: Reign of Power, build your own eco-friendly farm in Roots of Tomorrow and discover the three new games offered by Netflix to its subscribers.

Homeworld beta opens its borders

We start our recap of the week with a strategy game published by Gearbox and developed by Stratosphere Games: Homeworld Mobile. Announced for more than three years, the mobile adaptation of the famous Homeworld license is gradually opening the borders of its beta phase on Android and iOS.

In this military strategy game, take part in space battles in real time against other players, or as a team in PvE missions. The game is now available in Canada and in several European countries, such as Germany and the UK. Unfortunately, France is not yet involved, but we hope to see it coming soon.

Civilization Reign of Power coming to mobile

We continue with an announcement that will please fans of strategy games. Enjoyed by gamers for more than 30 years, Sid Meier's Civilization license will finally get its first mobile exclusive title. Entitled Civilization: Reign of Power, this economic simulation and military strategy MMO will place you at the head of a nation to face your opponents in PvP on huge battlefields.

It's up to you to make the right decisions at the right time to gain power and grow your empire. Civilization: Reign of Power has not revealed any gameplay footage, but NDREAM and Nexon, the two studios in charge of development, claim to have based their gameplay on Civilization V. It's a game we'll be following closely at JeuMobi and we'll let you know as soon as we have more information.

Oxenfree released for Netflix subscribers

Big week on the Netflix side, with three new games added to the catalog. Dive into a supernatural and poetic world with the first game, namely Oxenfree: Netflix Edition. In this narrative game, you must help a teenage girl and her group of friends communicate with ghosts through a radio. Make the right decisions during the dialogue phases to develop your relationship with the other characters and advance the intriguing storyline of Oxenfree.

In addition to its storyline highlighting coming-of-age issues, Night School Studio 's title shines with its mesmerizing art direction, both thanks to its pastel landscapes immersed in the mist and its soaring soundtrack. Desta: The Memories Between Release

We told you about it last week, Desta: The Memories Between is now available on Android and iOS with a little delay. As usual for Netflix subscribers, the game is ad-free and without in-game purchases.

Developed by Us Two Games, the creators of Monument Valley, this turn-based strategy game sublimated by roguelike mechanics presents the story of Desta, a young woman who dives into her memories to reconnect with her loved ones. Full of poetry, this title will take you on a dreamlike journey with unique visuals.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Get Cooking release

To finish with the Netflix releases of the week, it's our friend SpongeBob who returns in a new game. While you may be waiting for SpongeBob The Cosmic Shake on consoles and PC, our friend SpongeBob prefers to cook on mobile rather than venture to another platformer. Here, you must cook for the inhabitants of Bikini Bottom. Learn new recipes, improve your restaurant and open new ones to become the most famous chef in the deep sea. SpongeBob SquarePants: At the Table is available now on iOS and Android.

Roots of Tomorrow: build your own eco-friendly farm

We continue the releases of the week with a game that comes from the French studio Gamabilis, specialized in serious games. In Roots of Tomorrow, you are in charge of taking over a farm. You have 10 years to succeed in stabilizing your economic, social and environmental performance.

To meet this challenge, you'll need to take care of your animals and learn how to manage crop rotation, so as not to deplete the land's resources. Built like a classic farming simulation game, Roots of Tomorrow is available for free in beta version on Android and iOS before the official release and there is a dedicated educational version for teachers and their students. If you're a simulation fan, this is a great opportunity to learn about the ecological transition and have fun at the same time.

INKS release: a colorful pinball machine

Already available on iOS for several years, INKS, the pinball game critically acclaimed for its design, has finally been released on Android. Developed by the State of Play studio, the creators of Lumino City and South of the Circle, INKS combines the joys of pinball with satisfying graphics due to the explosions of colors caused by the ball. You will still have to pay a little more than three euros on Android, against two euros on iOS, to enjoy the hundred tables offered in the game.

Shovel Knight Dig on Apple Arcade: digging 3 and a half feet all over Britain

Let's stay in an arcade atmosphere with Shovel Knight: Dig, the new mobile game of the metroidvania license presented by Nitrome and Yacht Club Games. Launched this week on Apple Arcade, this title takes the essential Shovel Knight gameplay.

Explore levels by going deeper and deeper, digging, beating up enemies with your shovel and enjoying the roguelite mechanics of this pixel art world. With music as catchy as ever and the fear of ending up six feet under by digging in the wrong direction, Shovel Knight: Dig promises to be an original adventure on iOS.

The King of Fighters Arena: pre-registration opens

While most of the King of Fighters games are already available on Android and iOS, NetMarble has just announced the pre-registration opening for its next mobile game: The King of Fighters Arena. In this versus fighting game, you will have to compose your team of three fighters among the emblematic characters of the franchise, like Kyo Kusanagi or Terry Bogard. The King of Fighters Arena is scheduled for November 16, 2022 on iOS and should follow on Android.

Autochess Moba : the new born of the Valve pantheon

To finish up this week's announcements, I wanted to tell you about a special case of a MOBA that intends to compete with Wild Rift and its twisted family history. Let me introduce you to the Autochess Moba story and its roots in the video game industry.

In the beginning, there was Starcraft and Warcraft. Their union produced the DOTA mode. Then came League of Legends from an illegitimate union with Riot Games and a later second child, DOTA 2, born directly from its father's body, the DOTA mode. Then came the tender auto-chess mode which participated in the birth of TFT and Autochess, from a new illegitimate union with Riot Games for the first and a one night stand with Dragonest for the second.

Let's move on to this week's updates with many new features in the most popular titles, such as Genshin Impact and Tower of Fantasy which also reveal their future in leaks.

Genshin Impact release of the 3.1 update and 3.2 leak

Ahead of the Genshin Impact two-year anniversary, discover the 3.1 version of the Hoyoverse title, entitled King Deshret and the 3 mages. Available since September 28th, this update allows you to explore the Sumeru's desert part and to face its new bosses after discovering the 3.0 jungle.

In addition to the new characters Cyno and Candace, you'll have the ability to summon Venti in the first part of the patch and then Nilou and a rerun of Albedo before version 3.2. In 3.2, you will have access to the archon dendro Nahida, much awaited by the fans, as well as Layla and a Serenitea Pot Sumeru.

Tower of Fantasy : Cobalt-B, the new fire simulacra

As the Tower of Fantasy 2.0 update arrives later this fall, Level Infinite has surprised us with the announcement of the imminent Cobalt-B release in Tower of Fantasy on October 6, 2022. In the trailer, we can discover a nimble mechanical engineer who is adept at deadly gadgets.

This new fire simulacra will give you access to its Blazing Revolver weapon, which can send out flaming charged attacks as well as a variety of explosives. Tower of Fantasy : the next two simulacra leak

Still on the side of Tower of Fantasy, dataminers have managed to get information about the two upcoming simulacra: Marc and Bai Yuekui. If the info has not been confirmed yet, the two simulacra are already present in the Chinese version of the game. It is therefore likely that they will end up in the world version in the near future.

T3 Arena new hero

According to the leaks that are circulating, the next fighter to join Pokémon Unite should be Zoroark. We don't know its release date yet, but if we trust the release rate of the previous Pokémon, the wait shouldn't be very long.

Disney Mirrorverse: Hades and Cruella land in 2.0 update

Available on September 27, Disney Mirrorverse Update 2.0 adds two new playable characters: Cruella De Vil, the iconic villain from 101 Dalmatians, and Hades, the god of the underworld from the movie Hercules. But that's not all, as a new game mode, Rift Raids, will allow players to create alliances and participate in raids to win rewards. These time-limited events will take place every week from Thursday to Monday to achieve the highest score and win the best rewards.

Cookie Run Kingdom: collaboration with BTS

And it's Cookie Run Kingdom that opens the ball of partnerships of the week. The Dev Sisters studio has chosen to partner with the k-pop group BTS to offer exclusive content in its cookie world. Razer announces a 5G handheld console

After the announcement of the Logitech G Cloud cloud gaming console in our recap last week, it's Razer who responds this week with its own portable console: the Razer Edge 5G. Unlike the G Cloud, the Edge 5G, as its name suggests, will allow you to enjoy your titles anywhere, provided you have 5G reception.

Using the Android OS, the Razer Edge 5G will be able to access titles from the Google Play Store, as well as various cloud gaming services, such as Stadia, Xbox Game Pass or GeForce Now. The Singaporean manufacturer will be present at RazerCon 2022 on October 15 to give us more details about the Razer Edge 5G.

Netflix: collaboration with Tilting Point

We told you at the beginning of the recap about the release of SpongeBob SquarePants: Get Cooking! for Netflix subscribers. Well, the release of this title marks the beginning of a partnership between Netflix and the studio Tilting Point. In addition to this game, at least two other titles will come out of this collaboration: Narcos: Cartel Wars Unlimited, an exclusive version of the game Narcos: Cartel Wars, as well as another game based on a Netflix series, which will be developed in collaboration with Emerald City Games, the studio behind Tomb Raider Reloaded and Stark Trek Legends. Mohamed Light, the new Clash Royale world champion

To conclude with a little touch ofesportThe results of the Clash Royale League World Finals 2022 are now known. Mohamed Light, who came from Egypt to the tournament in Helsinki, Finland, where Supercell was born, finished first. He beat 15 other players to win the $250,000 cash prize reserved for the champion.

Despite a rocky start to the tournament, Mohamed Light was able to make a comeback early on and go on a winning streak. To get his hands on the final trophy, he ended up beating Germany's Morten, 2-0, in a final match at the top of the competition.
