Mobile games news recap of but 2022 week 2

Check out the weekly round-up of mobile gaming news on Android and iOS for the week of May 2-8, 2022! On the agenda this week: Warcraft mobile game details, a new Noah's Heart beta, Switch games on Android and a release window for Apex Legends Mobile and much more to discover in this recap. We'll let you read all about it below. ⬇️

1️⃣ Let's start the week's news with the full announcement of the first Warcraft game on mobile. Unveiled in a video on Tuesday night, Warcraft Arclight Rumble got a bit of an awkward presentation. However, at least we got a detailed look at the game's gameplay and story. The title is presented as a tower defense game in the Warcraft universe and will not feature lootboxes or NFT. On the battlefield, heroes and legendary villains will be at your command to lead the army you compose, taking into account the types of units, the five main families and the synergies of skills.

At first glance, the launch content already looks good, but we don't yet know the release date of Warcraft Arclight mobile. Find out more about the game and pre-register directly in our dedicated article.

2️⃣ Expected for 2 years by a whole community, Noah's Heart opens again the doors of its beta. The MMORPG mixing medieval fantasy and steampunk atmosphere will not be easy to discover: to access test, you will have to be one of the first 6,000 players to enter the game and validate your character. Only then will you have a chance to unlock the mysteries of the World Creation Cube.

The 2nd phase of the Noah's Heart beta will be available in five languages, including French, and is mainly aimed at Western countries, which confirms that Archosaur Games' title will have a worldwide launch!

3️⃣ We showed you some leaked screenshots of Valorant mobile in one of the previous recaps. But this week, it's a full gameplay video of Valorant mobile that has leaked on Youtube. On these rushes, the interface seems to have been tweaked and the gameplay experience is definitely closer to the console feel.

However, what will determine whether or not an FPS or ultra-competitive game will be a major success in 2022 is, above all, its scene esport. With Rainbow Six mobile in the testphase, it is hoped that neither Riot nor Ubisoft will forget about amateur and professional gamers who want to compete in organised tournaments.

Meanwhile, the 5v5 tactical FPS, Project RushB, similar to Valorant or CS, is enjoying a soft launch and is currently only available in the Philippines.

4️⃣ Once again, Netflix decides to expand its catalogue of mobile games. So we welcome Relic Hunter: Rebels, a small-licensed RPG shooter that's positioned primarily as a battery-saving title that you can play on the toaster that some people use as a smartphone. Available now via your Netflix subscription , Relic Hunter: Rebels combines sci-fi, efficient handling and a retro vibe to deliver a handy handheld game on Android and iOS.

5️⃣ To celebrate the arrival of May, Clash Mini is getting a little update. 5 minis are getting a rework: the electro wizard, the barbarian, the javelin goblin, the P.E.K.K.A. mini and the valkyrie have all undergone modifications. With this update, the progression system has also been redesigned, as well as the trophy route, and many balancing changes have been made. If you haven't tried the game yet, it is available on TapTap worldwide for Android players and in Finland on the Appstore.

6️⃣ Let's stay in the Clash universe with Season 35 of Clash Royale entitled Bewitched. Set under the sign of the Holy Witch, this new season brings its usual Royale Pass, the skin tower Crystal Cauldron, a rare emote and a new temporary game mode that will put skill first. Hold on to your boosted witches and get started in S35 now.

7️⃣ In pre-registration for many months, Rogue Company Mobile reveals a short gameplay video in a new leak from March's iOS techtest . It shows a game resolutely close to its big brothers on consoles and PC. As a result, we can expect this mobile port to have almost all the known features of the licence, and we can even see a button to change the shoulder weapon. The graphics are quite nice and the optimization of the title in terms of fluidity already seems to be there. In any case, we'll tell you more about Rogue Company Mobile as the weeks go by and we'll be releasing more information on the subject.

8️⃣ Kick-off for Seven Knights 2 season 2. This new season incorporates additional characters, the high fantasy setting of Moonlight Island and several improvements to the gameplay experience. For the occasion, several in-game events boost your rewards, so it's time to get back to Seven Knights 2 if you've been putting it off.

9️⃣ As the covid numbers take off again, Mario Kart Tour is treating itself to skins Doctors for its Doctor Tour. After a diversion to Amsterdam, Nintendo's mobile racing game chooses to host pill-shaped karts against the backdrop of the Coco Supermarket from 3 May. Luigi and Mario are parading around in doctor outfits, and you can enjoy the new wave of Mii costumes now, with a Wario outfit.

🔟 Mobile progress of the week, the Skyline emulator has been in the news. Taking over some of the work of the teams of Yuzu and Ryujinx, the references of Switch emulators on PC, the latter allows you to play Switch games on Android. For the moment, its catalogue is not very extensive since only the titles Sonic Mania and Celeste work completely. And Super Mario Odyssey, the next compatible game planned by Skyline, is stuck in the menu. While Nintendo must be gnashing its teeth, it's always a bonus for gamers to break the barriers of exclusivity.

1️⃣1️⃣ 9 years after its release, Clash of Clans is enjoying a huge update for May. Probably the most important to date, this update adds many new mechanics and locations. We discover the clan capital, the raid weekends, the forge and the airship, with stars in our eyes in front of all these new features. To find out more about the update, as well as how the raid weekends work and rewards, check out our article.

1️⃣2️⃣ True to form, Black Desert mobile keeps adding content and classes to refresh its gameplay experience. This week, Season 8 of the Pearl Abyss-published game takes centre stage. Entitled Path to Glory, it features new content and events, interface improvements, class balancing and bug fixes. Season 8 launches on 3 May and runs for 12 weeks, so be sure to take advantage of the opportunity to fill up on rewards.

1️⃣3️⃣ Decidedly, Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds continues to be in the news. Not long ago, the title announced that it would be entering the blockchain market, and now players can gawk at multiple trailers showcasing the various character classes. With no known release date, the game has a probable release date of June 30th on the Appstore, but it's rare for developers to stick to that date. To wait, you can discover the Thief, the Swordsman, the Witch and the Engineer in short videos dedicated to them.

1️⃣4️⃣ This week also marks the announcement of the latest alpha for Mad World, a 2D, cross-platform MMORPG that has been in development for several years at Korean studio Jandisoft. The company's first game, Mad World doesn't try to look like anything else. Its gory, distorted and hand-painted universe will be enough to make a lasting impression. To discover this title with its morbid atmosphere, you will have 7 days from May 25th, but only on PC, as the mobile version will follow after the launch. After that, the title should finally reveal its full release.

1️⃣5️⃣ Without making too much of a fuss, Super Baseball League enters pre-registration on mobile. Whether you're a real baseball fan or just nostalgic for your best Wii homeruns, you might find something to enjoy in this arcade-feeling real-time baseball game. On the menu, fast and entertaining games with maximum 1v1 competition in multiple modes and leagues.

1️⃣6️⃣ We know many of you are waiting for it... Apex Legends Mobile is coming later this month according to an official tweet. Even though it has already been released in several parts of the world, the title has yet to make its global release. In any case, you'll soon have the chance to find out for yourself and who knows, maybe this timing could align with the launch of Apex Season 13?

1️⃣7️⃣ On the esport side, Barcelona hosts this weekend the final of the WREC, the European Championship of League of Legends: Wild Rift. 5 out of 6 teams have already qualified for the group stage: Gamelord, Nasr Esports, RixGG, Team Queso and If Parla Esports. The last place will be decided between Formulation Gaming and Unicorn of Love. At the end of this tournament, we will know the 3 teams qualified for the world championships which will take place from June.

Yaya
Yaya Yaya would never have spent a single cent on a mobile game. At least, that's what the legend says.
