Check out the weekly recap of mobile gaming news on Android and iOS for the week of May 16-22, 2022! On the agenda this week: the new Apex legend on mobile, the 7 TFT set, news about Battelfield and eFootball and much more to discover in this recap. We'll let you read all about it below. ⬇️

1️⃣ Let's start this recap with the release ofApex Legends mobile. A faithful adaptation of the original game, this port by Respawn Entertainment is now available on Android and iOS worldwide. The title features dynamic gameplay with jumping, sliding and special skills unique to each character for play styles to suit everyone. The first 9 Legends from the original game are coming to mobile. Alongside them comes a new addition called Fade. A mobile exclusive, Fade is a military technology hunter who can deny damage and go back in time.

2️⃣ This week, two Disney games were in the news. First, Disney Mirrorverse opened on TapTap ahead of its global launch on all shops for an official release on June 23. Famous heroes and villains from the Disneyverse find themselves in a world to defend, united against evil creatures to help the great wizard Mickey. It's slightly reminiscent of the Skylanders storyline, but the result is a fairly classic gacha RPG with a strategic team building aspect. Check out Disney Mirrorverse before its full release now on TapTap.

3️⃣ Another Disney game to be under the spotlight, Star Wars Hunters rolls out its French version this week and opens up to Oceania. In addition, a jumping mechanic makes an appearance in the new patch, and we can't wait to check it out in Europe.

4️⃣ While the release of Dislyte and Apex has caused a lot of buzz and delighted many gamers, some are waiting for the arrival of other licenses, including Battlefield Mobile. To discover Battlefield on a smartphone, you will have to wait until 2023. This is what we learned during Electronic Arts' financial presentation of its fourth quarter. The firm's CEO, Andrew Wilson, stated that after the test phase at the end of May, Battlefield mobile would go through a worldwide launch at the end of the year or early next year. This puts Battlefield in an increasingly crowded market, with Call of Duty mobile, Apex Legends mobile PUBG mobile and Rainbow Six mobile at the top of the competitive FPS engagement.

5️⃣ Let's leave the sniper sights behind and put on our colourful skintight suits. A new title from the licence on mobile, Power Rangers Morphin Legends begins its progressive release through Vietnam and the Philippines. This Gacha RPG with combat at turn-based offered by nWay takes the iconic lore of the license with its characters, antagonists and most famous environments such as the Dai Shi temple.

6️⃣ Still on the RPG side, Fableborne meanwhile plans to launch its alpha in summer 2022. The title incorporates NFT technology into a large multiplayer action RPG. All in isometric view, Fableborne invites you to build your colony on an island and strengthen it to face enemy assaults, before going yourself to try to plunder the wealth of your neighbours. Your PvP battles are asynchronous, in the style of Clash of Clans, and PvE earns you rewards bonuses to help you grow faster.

7️⃣ Available only on iOS for £10, Dysmantle was released this week. A survival game in an apocalyptic world, Dysmantle places you on a scary island where you have to collect resources, cook, fish, farm, hunt enemies and craft as much as possible to escape death. In this game you can destroy almost anything, really almost anything, with a pickaxe, a shovel and a strong will to destroy. Ultimately, Dysmantle allows those who suffer from a psychiatric version of a Fortnite disease and can't let go of their pickaxe in real life to continue their destruction elsewhere.

8️⃣ Let's take a nostalgic leap into the past with Voodoo Detective, a hand-painted point-and-click adventure game reminiscent of Monkey Island. The plot takes place in 1934 on a remote island steeped in voodoo culture. On the island, you, the Voodoo Detective, are hired by a woman with complete amnesia to find out who she is and what happened to her. In this game, your strange investigation is punctuated by voice-overs and a quality soundtrack, to fully immerse you in the atypical universe of Voodoo Detective, to be discovered from 24 May on Android, iOS and PC.

9️⃣ What if our goal in 2032 was to put our old skates back on? At least, that's what Ubisoft is proposing we do virtually with the release of Roller Champions on May 25. Unfortunately, the title won't be launching on mobile immediately, so we'll have to wait a bit before we can enjoy crossplay on Android and iOS. An original free-to-play game, Roller Champions sees players compete in 3v3 skating. To win, you'll have to score, turn the field and outsmart your opponents, without stopping to roll.

🔟 Ubisoft is not content with a future launch of Roller Champions on mobile and is quietly continuing its testing phase for Wild Survivors, its upcoming Battle Royale. Alone against all, select the Survivor of your choice and battle it out in a 40 player mode. On the battle island, search for resources to gain an advantage over other players and dominate the wild creatures. Wild Survivors is a bit of a billionaire's fad that makes for a huge Hunger Games with crazy adrenaline and violence on the field. You can play solo or in trios to alternate strategies and learn to master all the brutality of this island.

1️⃣1️⃣ 8-player treachery game Project Winter had a new beta this week. With no definitive release date yet, the mobile port of this social survival experience will have you suspecting each of your friends, just like in Among Us. Expect any of them to sabotage your survival work, from fixing equipment to gathering resources. Or, if you're the traitor, make sure all their efforts are undone and you're the only one to get out of Project Winter alive.

1️⃣2️⃣ Lovers of strategy and auto-chess, you will certainly be delighted to learn more about TFT's Set 7. Entitled Dragonlands, this set is obviously placed under the sign... of the dragon. To open the ball of novelties, a dragon trait makes its appearance. Shared by 7 characters, it considerably increases their purchase cost. At the same time, augments are making a comeback, with already known hextech improvements and new ones such as the Sacrificial Pact, which will allow you to exchange HP for XP. TFT Set 7 will arrive on June 8 on the live servers and on May 24 on the PBE with patch 12.11.

1️⃣3️⃣ This week, Subway Surfers celebrates its 10th anniversary. Whether you're more of a Temple Run, Jetpack Joyride or Subway Surfers team, you have to acknowledge the game's incredible success since its launch. Moreover, the studios behind the game have also released new runners, such as Metroland and Brimblade, each on their own. Despite its rather short content, I really recommend Brimblade, which takes running to a whole new level with its impressive verticality and great combo feel. Go ahead and try it out to celebrate your big brother's birthday if you don't know it yet.

1️⃣4️⃣ Mobile gaming is establishing itself a little more each year as a serious growing market that deserves attention. This is not only because of its huge financial potential, but also because of all the efforts studios are making to produce quality titles. Recognised this week with a Game Audio Network Guild (GANG) nomination for Best Original Song, Robert Wolf owes his success to the beauty of the track "Immutable" which he produced for the mobile game Arknights. This music was nominated alongside other original soundtracks such as Call of Duty Vanguard, Halo Infinite and League of Legends. The real winners will be announced on 25 May via the ceremony broadcast on Twitch.

1️⃣5️⃣ Delayed indefinitely until now, the launch of eFootball 2022 has finally found a new release date, so expect to strap on your cleats on June 2 to give it your all on the pitch. Hopefully the devs will have managed to fix the matchmaking bugs that seemed to plague the mobile port of the title.

1️⃣6️⃣ Marvel Snap trading card game was just revealed with a reveal a few days ago. Made by ex-Hearthstone developers, Marvel Snap mixes inspirations from Gwent and Hearthstone for a combo that intends to honor the Marvel multiverse. The decks are made up of 12 unique cards and all of the game's cards will be available simply by playing the free-to-play title, either on mobile or on its PC emulator, which will surely arrive at the same time as the global launch on Android and iOS. This is at least what Second Dinner, the studio behind Marvel Snap, has assured us.

1️⃣7️⃣ If you're in need of some crime before the summer, don't count on GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition. Although the Rockstar licensed game was due to be released in June 2022, some recent reports indicated that it would be pushed back after all, and we got confirmation of that this week. So don't expect to get your hands on the iconic GTA trilogy on mobile until March 31, 2023.

1️⃣8️⃣ On the update side, the 2.7 MAJ from Genshin Impact is still waiting, and information about the 2.8 MAJ is starting to pour in. Amongst this information, we discover Shikanoin Heizou, a new 4 star Anemo character. The first male hero to use a catalyst, Shikanoin uses no other weapon than his feet and fists to take down his opponents. Discover the gameplay of this new hero in our dedicated article on JeuMobi.com.

1️⃣9️⃣ To stay in the colourful universe built by miHoYo, let's look at its new games. Among them, Zenless Zone Zero offers you to register to its closed beta until tomorrow. This new title from Hoyoverse doesn't reveal much apart from its graphic style, a few characters and a bit of gameplay oriented towards multiplayer dungeon exploration, but if you're curious to try it out, this is your chance!

2️⃣0️⃣ If you like Counter Strike or Rainbow Six Siege, the new opus of the Special Forces series may convince you. From its name Special Forces Group 3 the title takes in early access everything that made the success of these titles: a nervous tactical shooter gameplay with more than 40 maps and multiple game modes, to switch in the blink of an eye from a Capture The Flag game to a Deathmatch or bomb laying. That's one more FPS to try with Apex!

2️⃣1️⃣ Finally, let's end this recap with Arat TPS: MOBA, a very strange mix between MOBA, shooter and VR chat social universe. Inspired by Overwatch and other such titles, Arat also relies on player bonding to spice up its gameplay as your relationships with your friends and possible in-game crushes should influence your team composition with a strange romance mechanic. Not sure if this is a step in the right direction for the metaverse, but some developers already have their own ideas on the matter.

Yaya
Yaya Yaya would never have spent a single cent on a mobile game. At least, that's what the legend says.
