Clash of Clans (CoC) is one of the most popular mobile games. Developed by the studio Supercell, all its lights are green. It has weathered the period of containment very well and its scene esport has not slowed down during this complicated year. Its community will be able to rejoice even more, as the game gains ground and continues to amaze with Lost & Crowned. This Clash of Clans short film, which can be viewed on YouTube, is the first official production of its kind. Depending on its success, it could be the start of a long series.
Players of Clash Royalethe other successful SuperCell game, can also enjoy the video production.
The short film Clash of Clans was developed in collaboration with the animation studio Psyop. Psyop knows a thing or two about video games and has already worked with major franchises such as League of Legends. Lost & Crowned lasts about ten minutes, during which you will not find any dialogue. However, they are not always necessary to convey a message and emotion. The short film does not lack humour and makes for a good and entertaining time.
Without going into too much detail and spoiling the story, Lost & Crowned follows the adventures of Peter and Larry, two skeleton brothers. While they are in charge of guarding the treasure room and the Red Crown, things don't go as planned. In order to carry out their mission and make up for their mistakes, they will have to redouble their imagination and creativity in order to get out of some very funny situations.
Lost & Crowned is the first official CoC short film. There is a video series called Clash-A-Rama, but it is more of a fan fiction than a real short film. The first episode dates back to 2014 and there are about ten episodes in the series so far. However, this one has a very different style from the last official work. Clash-A-Rama was deliberately simplistic and featured 2D models. The series also focused more on combat than on exploring the game universe.
The appellation fan fiction doesn't really do justice to the work and quality of the work that was so successful when it was released. Clash-A-Rama was not created by amateurs, but by a trio from the Simpsons production team (LaZebnik, Cohen and John Frink).
