Age of Empires mobile tier list: our ranking system

If you're new to the game, you're probably having a hard time choosing the right heroes. In AoE mobile, you can fight alongside some of the greatest names in history, such as Joan of Arc and King Arthur. So we've put together an Age of Empires mobile tier list to help you create more or less powerful teams as you progress through the game.

To make things easier for you to understand, we've divided the heroes into three categories:

• Tier S heroes: the best heroes in the game that you absolutely must include in your teams. They include Leonidas I, Cid, Sun Tzu, Joan of Arc and the Queen of Sheba.
• Tier A heroes: balanced heroes who will be very useful to you. They include Atilla, King Arthur, Cleopatra VII and Miyamoto Musashi.
• Tier B heroes: heroes that will help you get to grips with the game. They are Kaso, Axel, Gatos, Wu Wei and Baldassi.

Medium heroes allow you to become more familiar with the various game mechanics and are easier to obtain than Tier S heroes. That said, the further you progress in Age of Empire mobile, the more the need to obtain better heroes will become apparent. Leonidas I, the best warrior on the AoE mobile tier list

If we had to recommend just one character in Age of Empires mobile, it would be Leonidas the 1st. This hero is interesting on many levels and is the best in the entire Age of Empires mobile tier. He's very powerful and is capable of inflicting heavy damage on his enemies. What's more, his 'Vigilance' skill allows him to counter-attack, which can be very useful in certain confrontations.

Cid, the best marshal in Age of Empires mobile

He possesses a variety of skills, including reducing the armour of enemies, slowing down opponents and making them more vulnerable to attack. The Tier A heroes in our Age of Empires Mobile tier list are a very good compromise to the S-rank heroes. They're easier to access and allow you to progress fairly far in the game. Gradually, you'll be able to replace them with Tier S characters to increase their power.
