What is a Roblox Bacon: we explain!

Roblox Bacon

Roblox Bacon is what 'Noob' is to video games. If you thought it was the food, we're sorry to disappoint you. Why are we talking about Bacon on an online gaming platform? Where does it come from? We'll explain it all to you, so that if you see the term 'Bacon' appear during a game of one of your favourite games, you won't be surprised.

What is a Roblox Bacon?

On Roblox, you can play peacefully, defeating the monsters of Rainbow Friends or exploring the lands of Blox Fruits with other players you don't know. Some have a skin representing a video game character, others more or less original outfits. What about you? You've kept the same avatar as when you signed up, with no customisation whatsoever, because you didn't want to pay Robux money for a different look... Or maybe just because you liked the way it looked.

Suddenly, while you're waiting in the lobby for the game to launch, a player writes in the chat window that you're a Bacon in Roblox. Don't understand why you're being compared to meat?

Roblox Bacon for women

In reality, the term Bacon on Roblox simply refers to a 'new' player, or at least someone who has kept their original avatar. The term comes from the appearance of the character's default hair, which many players think looks like slices of bacon. In a way, it's the equivalent of 'noob', a term used to describe a novice player.

Is it really that bad to be called a Roblox Bacon?

It's a funny question. Players who have kept their default character are often associated with being weak or beginners. As if, in order to show off your power, it was essential to have the most fashionable outfit, or the most original style. But is Roblox's Bacon look only used by new players?

Some experienced players deliberately choose not to wear a different outfit to maintain the element of surprise when playing against other players. In fact, good players will lower their guard against a Roblox Bacon rather than against a player who appears to be experienced... This makes it very easy for "undercover" players to turn the tables! Especially as not all players with a skin are necessarily good players. Roblox in-game characters

Some players feel entitled to tease players who haven't customised their avatar. However, some of the comments are harmless, so there's nothing to worry about. However, if you notice any inappropriate behaviour or harassment towards a player, contact Roblox or report the players. The platform is a space dedicated to respectful and benevolent gaming, where malice has no place. Everyone is entitled to respect on Roblox, whether you're a "Bacon" or not!

History of Roblox and Bacon, his 'default' character

Roblox was officially launched in 2006 by two American entrepreneurs, David Baszucki and Erik Cassel, whose dream was to offer gamers more open possibilities through their gaming experiences. Today, the platform boasts more than 70 million players every day, and its sandbox-style gameplay has won over players around the world. What's more, according to a survey carried out by Statista in 2023, 67% of players are under the age of 16.

Did you know? The ancestor of Roblox as we know it was called Dynablocks and looked like a rudimentary Lego. It was created in 2004 and is considered to be a prototype of the current platform.

Novice and Bacon Roblox, the basic characters

Prior to 2014, the game's basic avatar was only the Roblox Bacon. It was Novice Skin, a very geometrically shaped character with yellow skin, a blue t-shirt and green trousers. Subsequently, the developers decided to implement the 'Bacon' character on Roblox with more human features, closer to the appearance of a Playmobil.

All in all, it's fair to say that clothes don't make the man, so be wary of appearances, all in a spirit of respect and goodwill! If you like the platform, don't hesitate to check out all our Roblox tips to help you have lots of fun.

Hellfire If I were a Pokemon, I would be Jigglypuff. Cute, but slightly annoying! (Actually, I prefer Moltres).
