New Year's 2021 Tour: Mario Kart Tour celebrates the New Year

As the year 2020 draws to a close, there is little time for massive celebrations and group celebrations. However, there is no question of moping around alone. Video gamers can celebrate together on Mario Kart Tour with the New Year's 2021 Tour event. Banana peels and Yoshi eggs may not taste as good as champagne and petit fours, but they offer at least as much fun! For players who are still too busy on New Year's Eve, don't panic. The New Year's 2021 Tour won't disappear just yet. It will remain available until 12/13 January (depending on where you live).

Nintendo Mobile has prepared a short video trailer to promote its event. It lasts less than a minute but reveals a few surprises... Among them, the introduction of two new pilots who join the ranks of the available characters: Lakitu and Pauline.

New Year's 2021 Tour: several rewards to start the year on the right foot

With the New Year's 2021 Tour , aspiring drivers will discover a new exclusive map: the RMX Rainbow Road 2. This revamped version of the SNES Rainbow Road promises even more crazy and colourful racing. But above all, players will have the pleasure of collecting rewards. Indeed, everyone will be able to get most of the gifts for free. However, as always, Gold Pass holders ($4.99 per month subscription) will be more spoiled than others.

Rewards of the pass

The rewards on a gold background can only be obtained by players who have Mario Kart Tour who have the Gold Pass. All players will however be able to win the Blue Seven kart.

Two new pilots

The New Year's 2021 Tour will also introduce two new drivers to the game. The game takes full advantage of the richness of the Mario universe, which is full of zany characters.

Lakitu : this koopa does not arrive in the unknown on Mario Kart Tour. Players are used to seeing him as a racereferee. Now that he has left his cloud, will he be able to impose himself in the scrum?

Pauline : Known for her beauty, the one sometimes called "Lady" or "Beautiful girl", comes from the game Donkey Kong. Mario's first love can be counted on to outshine everyone else.
