When you arrived in Inazuma, you must have heard the name Baal more than once. This name seems to refer to the Electro Archon. However, as the story unfolds, you discover that this is not the case. The actual Archon is none other than Ei, who is also called Beelzebub. But then, who is Baal in Genshin Impact ? This is what we reveal in this article.
Baal was the first Electro Archon. But the people of Inazuma think that she is still in charge of them. Baal actually had a twin sister: Ei (Beelzebub). She sacrificed herself to allow her sister to reign. But once she became an Archon, Baal brought her back to life. The two Raidens ruled together over Inazuma. Baal was in charge of political affairs, while Beelzebub preferred action and therefore fighting.
After the death of Baal in Genshin Impact, Ei continued to rule alone in his name. Baal has a second name: Makoto. It can be said that this is his "social" name, it is more intimate. In the same way as for the people of Mondsdadt, the Archon Anemo is called Barbatos, whereas he is more generally called Venti.
Beelzebub and Baal had different ideals. Yet, they reigned in harmony over Inazuma. Unfortunately, Baal was killed during the attack of Khaenri'ah, 500 years ago. Unfortunately, Ei arrived too late.
She thus became the second Inazuma Archon, without anyone knowing it. For the people, it was Baal who continued to govern them. For this reason, Baal is the name most often used in Genshin Impact to refer to the Electro Archon.
Genshin Impact 2.1 update marked Raiden Shogun arrival into the game. She is one of the best characters in the RPG. You can find out how to play her and equip her in our full guide. However, Raiden Shogun is neither Baal nor Beelzebub, but a puppet created by Ei.
In the history of Genshin Impact, Baal died 500 years ago. It is not possible to embody her and unfortunately very little is known about her. But according to Yae Miko, she was a kind and gentle god. Pacific, she did not like violence, preferring to be interested in human life. Unlike Ei, she believed that everything must come to an end and therefore did not believe in eternity.
For a long time she tried to convince her. Baal bequeathed her his sword, the Musou Isshin, in which she left a part of her soul. It was not awakened until centuries later, when Ei finally renounced her ideal of eternity by confronting Magatsu Mitake Narukami no Mikoto, the puppet she had once created.
That's all for this article about Baal from Genshin Impact. So you know who Baal is and the Raiden available in the RPG. Feel free to check out our additional articles for more information about Ei and Makoto.
