After its announcement in 2022, Activision's battle royale has kept a low profile, despite a soft launch in a few regions around the world. Now we know the release date for Warzone mobile on Android and iOS. We had a false alarm for May 2023, but now we have direct confirmation from the developers. Get your guns ready, the action starts this month! And if you've already played the game on console, you're in for a treat.
If you'd given up hope, you can now catch your breath. Warzone mobile's release date is closer than ever. In Activision's official announcement, complete with a launch trailer, we learn that the game will be available for free on stores from 21 March.
The game is congratulating itself on having passed the 50 million pre-registration mark, but frankly it's been a long time coming. What is certain is that with the success of Call of Duty mobile, the number of pre-registered players and the 20-year history of the licence, the servers are going to be jam-packed from the very first hour.
If, like 50 million other gamers, you're interested in Activision's FPS, you can still pre-register ahead of 21 March so you're ready to fire on Warzone mobile's release date. I've included the download and pre-registration links below.
In-game, you'll be deployed on the iconic maps of Verdansk and Rebirth Island in a mobile version of Warzone designed to be as close a replica as possible. With the soft launch, the developers were able to take advantage of extensive feedback to fix bugs and improve the quality of the content.
The experience is completely cross-platform: the player experience, weapon experience and battle pass progression are transferred between the mobile version and the PC/console version. What's more, numerous multiplayer modes and maps have been added to the game's options.
Those who pre-register will receive the following rewards on the release date of Call of Duty Warzone mobile:
The Ghost "Condemned" Operator skin
M4 "Archfiend" and X12 "Prince of Hell" weapon blueprints
Foe's Flame" vinyl
And the Dark Familiar emblem.
As a reminder, Warzone mobile aims to be the biggest Battle Royale on mobile, and it demonstrates this at least by the scale of its production, since the game was co-developed by teams from all over the world, including Activision Shanghai Studio, Solid State Studios, Beenox and Digital Legends.
