LoL: Wild Rift - First Official Release Wave

After long periods of closed regional beta, the game League of Legends: Wild Rift has been officially released. So you'll finally be able to play the version of the famous MOBA from your phone... only if you live in one of the Asian countries listed...! Sorry for the false hope, but for Europeans, you'll have to wait until the first week of December, if the developer diary is to be believed.

To help you get your teeth into it, you can always check out our Ranked guide to get straight to the top. Ranked games will be available as soon as Wild Rift is officially released and there are no access requirements.

Wild Rift: official release in a handful of countries

The countries concerned by the official release of Wild Rift are :

• Indonesia;
• Japan;
• Malaysia;
• Philippines;
• Singapore ;
• South Korea ;
• Thailand.

The players concerned can now play on iOS as well as on Android. As a reminder, the game will be based on the main lines of the PC League of Legends version. However, Wild Rift has adapted to mobile players, to offer shorter and more dynamic games (less defensive buildings).

The game studio Riot Games has logically focused on these Asian countries, where the mobile game sector is highly developed. Whether it be at the level of esport or casual gaming, these markets seem to be much more profitable.

Europe in the planned second wave

Europe is not too bad off and players should be able to write their own legend soon. Together with Oceania, Vietnam and Taiwan, we are in the second zone. If all goes well, we will have access to Wild Rift during the first week of December. The only downside is that Riot Games has warned that a delay is possible given the current situation...
So fingers crossed and praying to the gods of Summoner's Rift!
As a consolation, you should know that Americans won't be able to touch the game until Spring 2021. 😉
