Mobile games round-up #156 with Cookie Run ToA and Dragon Raja

In this week's recap (No. 156), we take a look at the week's must-have mobile games releases, mobile news and pre-registrations/test phases you won't want to miss.

Settle in, as we do every Sunday to bring you the week's mobile games news! On the programme: the trailer for Chaos Zero Nightmare, preregistrations to Dragon Raja Gate of Cassell open and a whole bunch of other news.

Mobile games releases and announcements this week

This week has been rich in release announcements, with many games now available on the stores:

  • Chaos Zero Nightmare announcement trailer: The new game from the creators of Epic Seven reveals its first cinematic images, and we tell you all about it in our article.
  • Release of Blue Lock Project World Champion in Japan: This football title is coming to mobile play in Japan's virtual land, and you can try it out now on Android and iOS.
  • Soft launch of Squad Busters: Supercell has finally been rolling out a full game on phones since 2017 in several countries, and has announced its global release for 29 May on Android and iOS.
  • Release of Dadish 3D: Dadish the radish returns for adventures with an extra dimension in this new creation by Thomas K. Young on Android and iOS.

Other releases include Rumble Club, the puzzle game Boxes: Lost Fragments, the colourful snake game Quetzi, the racing game Formula Bwoah and the first chapter of the point-and-click adventure Aurora Hills.

In addition, we were treated to a gameplay video of the RPG Unending Dawn and the cross-platform Wuxia game Where Winds Meet.

Pre-registration, updates and testing phases

In addition to the recent releases, we have more test announcements and pre-registrations in stock this week.

  • Pre-registration for Dragon Raja: The Gate of Cassel: the new title in the Dragon Raja licence is coming soon to our phones in China.
  • Pre-registration for Cooke Run: Tower of Adventures: ahead of its global launch on 25 June, the new game in the Korean cookie licence is inviting future players to pre-register on Android and iOS with a brand new trailer.
  • New Draconic faction in AFK Arena: in addition to the undead, wildlings and hypogeans, the game from Lilith Games deploys its 8 draconic heroes in a new patch.
  • Pre-registration opens for Zenless Zone Zero: miHoYo's RPG will be released later this year on PC, Android and iOS, but you can pre-register now.

Meanwhile, DanMachi Memoria Freese is preparing to close on 24 June, Infinity Nikki is starting its offline test and Basketball Slam MyTEAM is entering pre-registration.

More news from the mobile games industry

There's more news from the mobile JV industry this week:

  • The Embracer Group is to split into three divisions to pay off its debts after a long period of internal restructuring.
  • The Provenance emulator arrives on the App Store with its entire catalogue of games for Sony and Nintendo consoles.
  • The announcement of Arena Breakout: Infinite on PC will take Tencent's extraction shooter to the next level.

And Midjiwan, developers of The Battle of Polytopia, are opening a co-working space for Swedish independents.
