New mobile games and announcements of the week

This week, the new game releases are not numerous, but nevertheless quite varied with a multiplayer treason game, a gacha RPG based on a big license, but also a quiz created by a Hollywood star.

The Walking Dead: All-Stars released on Android and iOS

We start our recap of the week with the The Walking Dead: All-Stars release, available for free on Android and iOS. Developed by Com2uS, this gacha idle RPG offers you to compose a team of survivors to defeat hordes of zombies, but also and especially other groups of players.

Among the many characters to collect, you will find the heroes of the series and the comics, such as Rick, Glenn, Michonne, Alpha or Negan. As for the gameplay, The Walking Dead: All-Stars doesn't invent anything, but it relies on solid bases which should delight fans of gacha and the license.

Project Winter Mobile release

Put on some warm clothes to protect yourself from the cold of the release of Project Winter Mobile, available for free on iOS and Android since this week. Unfortunately, even the best gear in the world won't help you against the traitors hiding in your team.

Like Among Us or Werewolves of Thiercelieux, Project Winter is a game of betrayal in which you are part of a group of survivors whose goal is to escape from the hostile environment from which they are trapped.

To do this, the 8 players must collaborate and explore the map to collect the resources they need to survive while avoiding being killed by the wild animals that populate the snowy mountains of Project Winter Mobile.

The final objective of a game is to repair the radio so that they can call for help and finally leave this icy hell. But as if the task was not complicated enough, the survivors must also unmask the traitors who have infiltrated the group.

Rocksmith+ : release on PC and soon on mobile

If you want to learn the guitar while having fun, Rocksmith+ is the tool you need. Developed by Ubisoft, thisguitar and bass learning game juggles fun with its mini-games and seriousness with the management of chords whose difficulty naturally increases according to your level.

Unlike games like Guitar Hero, here you have to play the songs with a real guitar. No matter what your musical style is, you will find what you are looking for among the more than 56,000 songs in the catalog, from Santana to Britney Spears, including Mozart, The Rolling Stones, Johnny Hallyday and La Fouine.

This sequel to the first Rocksmith released in 2014 will be available on PC from September 6, 2022 and a little later on mobile. It will take the form of a subscription of about 15 euros per month, a rate that may seem relatively expensive, but is nothing compared to real guitar lessons.

Soon the gameplay reveal of COD Warzone Mobile?

Call of Duty Warzone Mobile should show itself soon. Indeed, the official accounts of the game have just appeared on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, which suggests that Activision will soon communicate on its Battle Royale.

For the moment, the only information we have about Warzone Mobile comes from a gameplay leak at the beginning of the summer that revealed the presence of the Verdansk map and the Gulag. We'll keep you posted as soon as we know more, but it's likely that Activision will take advantage of the hype of the release of Modern Warfare 2 in October to reveal more.

Hanx101 Trivia: Tom Hanks' first game

In between shooting on the sets of the world's greatest directors, Tom Hanks has been working on his first game: Hanx101 Trivia. You may not know it, but the famous Oscar-winning actor is, in his spare time, passionate about general knowledge.

Visual of Hanx101 Trivia

That's why he wanted to share this love of knowledge by participating in the creation of a quiz with BlueLine Studios. On the program, more than 58,000 questions on various subjects: Art, Technology, History, Food, Mathematics or Geography. Unfortunately for Android users, Hanx101 Trivia is an Apple Arcade exclusive.

Yu-Gi-Oh! CROSS DUEL has an imminent release date

Already available for several weeks in some regions of the world, Yu-Gi-Oh! CROSS DUEL is about to be released worldwide. This umpteenth variation of the card game license stands out for its 4-player format that completely changes the rhythm of the games.

If the main mode consists of a confrontation between players, a cooperation mode is also available. While waiting for its release on September 6th, you can already pre-register on the official website of the game to get rewards in-game.

Sigma Theory release date on Android and iOS

Three years after the release of its PC version, Sigma Theory will soon make its arrival on mobile on October 18, 2022. If you don't know this game by the creators of Out There, it is a strategy game at turn-based in which you play the director of a spy cell in the middle of a futuristic cold war.

Lead your agents, make influential contacts and make the right decisions to ensure the security of your nation. In addition to being an excellent simulation and management game, Sigma Theory benefits from a highly developed narrative, with a multitude of branches, to live a unique game experience. If the price on Android has not yet been communicated, you will have to pay 6.99 euros to get it on iOS.

Diablo-like beta: Dark hunter

Dark Hunter, the new Idle RPG from Loongcheer Game studio, has just entered the open beta phase on Android. Choose between 6 classes (Wizard, Warrior, Demon Hunter, Necromancer, Beastmaster and Penitent Knight) and dive into a heroic fantasy universe freely inspired by Diablo. And it's not me who says it, but the game itself, since its full name is none other than Dark Hunter: Diablo-like RPG.

Updates of the week

Let's move on to this week 's updates with the start of the new seasons of the fall, which definitely signals the end of summer. To console us, let's find out what's in store for our favorite games.

Brawl Stars: two new fighters

During the September Brawl Talk, Supercell just announced the arrival of two new fighters in Brawl Stars. The first, Sam, is the second member of Belle's trio. While his basic attack has long range, he can slip on his Knuckle Busters to do more damage, but at a shorter distance and slower rate. With his Super Attack, he can send his gauntlets into the distance, doing damage along the way before returning to the caster.

Gus, the second brawler, is a support fighter who can heal his allies. He can create a shield with his Super Attack, which he can use on himself or on his teammates. A new map named Robot Factory also appears, but we are not convinced by its level design, nor by its design.

Clash Fest on Clash Royale

We continue with another popular game from Supercell, as the Clash Fest has just started on Clash Royale. During the whole month of September, the biggest event of the year (according to the developers), offers players the chance to win numerous rewards, including 7 emotes, but also IRL gifts, such as a golden P.E.K.K.A signed by the development team, an iPad or a flight to attend the Worlds finals in Helsinki

Diablo Immortal season 4 teases first major update

Despite the criticism it received upon its release Diablo Immortal continues on its way and already welcomes its fourth season. In addition to the new battle pass, two temporary events have been announced. One of them will be called the Mists of Cyrangar and will ask players to face "unspeakable horrors shrouded in mist" to quote the developers. During this event, which will run from September 21 to 30, the mist will gradually dissipate to reveal a clue about the next major update to Diablo Immortal.

In parallel, from September 14 to 28, the Scorched Sea event will allow players to unlock rewards by completing a series of quests. Finally, it is now possible to face the new boss, which is actually a duo of demons, Gishtur and Beledwe.

The Artifact Card event in Dislyte

Until the end of September, Dislyte will host the event : Artifact Card. Collect relics from Egyptian, Chinese, Norse and Greek mythologies to exchange them in the store for various rewards . To obtain artifact cards, perform summonses, complete the event tasks and get your daily login bonus.

To accompany the release of the esper Gaius, Lilith Games has published a clip in which we can discover a little more of the character's universe on a background of rap/dubstep music.

Season 8 of COD Mobile

Call of Duty Mobile has just announced its season 8, entitled Train to Nowhere. This update will be available from September 6. Among the new features, we note the arrival of the new multiplayer map Express, well known to players of Call of Duty Black Ops 2, but also the Operation Spy Hunt event and the usual Battle Pass that will unlock many rewards.

Industry news

A lot has happened this week in themobile gaming industry. Between PlayStation and Xbox who want to attract the mobile market and the buyouts of studios that keep on coming, mobile games have a great future ahead of them.

Console manufacturers attack the mobile market

During an interview for Bloomberg, Phil Spencer, the CEO of Microsoft Studios and Xbox, explained the record-breaking buyout of Activision-Blizzard for $68.7 billion. If the main objective is to recover the community of 361 million players on the group's games, it is also their know-how in terms of mobile games that interests Xbox. It is therefore likely that the American giant plans to develop new mobile titles with the many studios acquired in recent years.

PlayStation, the historical competitor of Xbox, is not left out and intends to take its share of the cake. Indeed, the Japanese firm has just announced the acquisition of Savage Game Studios, which is currently working on a mobile AAA.

NetEase acquires Quantic Dream

Let's end this recap with another acquisition that concerns mobile games. Indeed, the NetEase studio behind games like The Lords of the Rings: Rise to War, Lost Light or soon Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, has just acquired Quantic Dream.

NetEase acquires Quantic Dream studio

This French studio has already developed several successful games, such as Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls or Detroit: Become Human, but has never tried its hand at mobile. We can't wait to discover what Quantic Dream has in store for us on mobile, but we can be sure that, as in all their games, the narrative and the scenaristic choices will be at the heart of the gameplay.

Thank you all for reading this far, and see you next week for more mobile gaming news!
