Already available in several regions since last month, the Pokémon TCG Live beta is now available on PC and mobile worldwide. Let's discover together the additions that this new highly anticipated version of the trading card game from the Pokémon universe has in store for us.
It's been more than a year that IP fans have been waiting to get their hands on the Pokémon TCG Live beta on Android, iOS and PC. Indeed, this new version of the game was announced at the end of last year with a trailer on the official Youtube channel Pokémon.
And the least we can say is that this announcement had made some noise in the fanbase, since the previous version, Pokémon TCG Online, was released in 2010. So it is 12 years later that this new game comes to take over the cult trading card game.
But since then, the competition has settled on the TCG market with Hearthstone, Legends of Runeterra or Yu Gi Oh! Master Duel, released this year. Even more recently, Marvel Snap has shaken up the codes of the genre and is enjoying a huge success since its launch.
Among the new features of the Pokémon TCG Live beta compared to the old game, there are several obvious improvements. First of all, matchmaking is much faster in normal matches as well as in ranked games, which have been redesigned.
Then, the interface has been completely redesigned for more fluidity and the animations have been brought up to date.
But to play Pokémon TCG Live, you need maps. Besides the ones you get naturally in-game, a free and paid Battle Pass allows you to unlock them, as well as others rewards. You can also earn in-game cards by scanning QR codes from real card packs Pokémon Trading Card Game.
Whether you're an early IP fan Pokémon, or just enjoy card games, I recommend you try the Pokémon TCG Live beta, available on Android, iOS and PC. To discover other similar games, I redirect you to our top TCG on mobile.
