AFK Journey Tier List: Ranking

The most powerful heroes in the game must combine significant buffs or debuffs, sustain, utility and good synergy with other effective characters on the field. This tier list details each of the game's heroes by Faction, gameplay type, useful game phase (early, mid or late-game) and main game modes.

In addition, the ranking of the best AFK Journey heroes is organised by rank:

• Tier S+: the OP heroes of the current meta, absolutely essential if you want to remain competitive across all game modes,

• Tier S: these heroes are also essential if you want to have a powerful composition right from the early-game, like Odie and his poison damage,

• Tier A: the heroes that make up the core of the AFK Journey tier list, which you can switch between as you progress through the mid-game and end-game,

• Tier B: the situational abilities of these heroes make them useful for getting through certain AFK levels, tactical challenges or solo challenges,

• Tier C: AFK Journey heroes in Tier C are inferior options to the rest of the character roster and should be used mainly in Legendary Trials by Faction and will not form part of your main composition,

• Tier D: heroes to avoid who are below the level imposed by the meta, either too squishy or with negligible effects on the battlefield,

Tier S+: The best AFK Journey heroes in the current meta

These heroes are essential in all compositions, all game modes and at any stage of your account's progression. They therefore make up the S+ tier of this AFK Journey tier list. In the lower tiers, certain characters can be just as powerful as the S+ tiers in specific phases of the game: for example, they are weaker at the start of the game or lose their usefulness at the end-game.

The S+ heroes in this table are a worthwhile investment for all account types, at all levels. After the mid-game, Dionel, Eironn and Igor are among the most powerful characters. However, Dionel is a Celestial character, and therefore difficult to obtain, and Eironn and Igor need several copies of characters to be truly effective.

That's why they're not an interesting drop at the start of the game. It could slow you down as you move through the AFK levels and other tiers.

Tier S: AFK Journey's top ranking of powerful heroes

The Tier S heroes in this AFK Journey tier list are all very powerful. They will easily complement any type of composition in line with the game's current meta. Smokey & Meerky is a good alternative to Heywinn, while Granny Dahnie can replace a lack of Thoran on the tanking side in the early game.

Ideally, Brutus will be able to hold your frontline in the early game with the support of a healer like Smokey & Meerky, while you can use other Tier S heroes in the late game. Eironn and Igor will make perfect finishers to rout the opposing team and kill off isolated enemies. Tier A: The good heroes of the AFK Journey Tier List

Tier A contains heroes who are still effective for your compositions, but whose potential is more apparent at certain points in the game or who are more difficult to obtain than characters belonging to the higher tiers. For example, Dionel could be ranked S in the AFK Journey tier list, but his Celestial hero class makes him difficult to level up.

Tier A contains heroes that are fairly versatile in their uses, provided they are used at the right time. There are good off-tank alternatives and effective DPS.

Tier B: Situational heroes in PvE and PvP

Next up are the Tier B characters. You need to know their kit inside out to make the most of them and exploit their synergy potential. Seth will make a ruthless lone killer later in the game, Kruger can be used to break the defence of an enemy who is immune to your damage, and Fay is the only non-legendary healer who can act as a buffer until you drop better Supporters in this AFK Journey tier list, like Heywinn or Smokey & Meerky.

Most of these tier B characters are easier to upgrade than legendary heroes. They'll find their place in your composition once you've accumulated numerous Soul Sigils from these characters.

Tier C: The worst heroes on the AFK Journey Tier List

In the current meta, Tier C heroes are best avoided. They will serve as filler heroes for your compositions in the Legendary Challenge tiers but will not find their place in your main composition in PvE or PvP. They can also be used to complete your early game compositions when you don't have any other options.

Be careful not to keep these heroes on your Wish List at the Noble Tavern, to avoid wasting your draws on characters that are too weak.
