After covering all the Set 7 items and their effects, find out how to use them in our TFT builds items guide to Set 7. Find out our tips and tricks on how to build an effective item build and which units benefit the most from it.
Before we get into the full TFT builds items guide to set 7, here are some tips on how to use them properly:
The best AD Carry item in TFT Set 7 is undoubtedly Guinsoo's Rageblade. It allows your champion to gain 6% attack speed with each attack. The longer the fight lasts, the faster your champion will be.
Then we have the Quicksilver item, which improves your champion's attack speed by 20%. It synergises very well with Guinsoo's Rageblade as it improves its bonus with every hit you land.
For the third item, you can opt for a Giant Slayer, which will be very effective against tanks, or an Infinity Edge to gain a 75% critical damage chance. Of the champions to equip with the AD Carry item build, Xayah, Talon and Corki are at the top of the list, but we can also count on Volibear, Daeja, Varus or Yasuo.
Although the best compositions TFTs in set 7 are mostly geared towards attack damage, patch 12.12b restores the balance a bit with many nerfs. This is good news for champions like Anivia or Ao Shin, who will finally be able to make a difference.
For the AP Carry build, start with the Archangel's Staff, which gives 30 base power, plus 20 every 5 seconds of combat. This is the equivalent of Guinsoo's Raging Blade for magic damage. Now that your champion has enough power, add Shojin's Spear so that he gets mana back with each attack and can cast his spell faster.
The last item is more situational. It can be a Valuable Gauntlet to inflict more critical damage or a Morellonomicon to burn your targets. In both cases, you will also get more power. You can equip other TFT champions with this build of items, like Ryze, Sona, Aurelion Sol or Zoe.
As explained earlier, even the best equipped Carry will not be enough to win on TFT. The Tank item build allows you to stall so that your offensive champions do maximum damage before being targeted.
One of the best defensive items is Sunfire Cape, which melts enemy HP over time. To maximise its effect, you will need extra HP. This is where Warmog's Armor comes in, which increases your champion's HP by 1000.
Next, add Bramble Vest. In addition to strengthening your armour, it is an excellent counter to the Infinity Blade, which is used again in the meta with the return of Talon and Corki. Depending on the compositions opponents, you can also opt for Gargoyle Stoneplate as a third item.
Once your main champions are equipped with the best items from TFT's Set 7, the secondary item build serves to enhance the impact of your Carry. For AD Carry, opt for a double Zeke's Herald on characters like Tristana to increase Corki's attack speed, or on a champion Swiftshot placed next to Xayah for example.
On the AP side, Chalice of Power works the same way, but with a power boost instead of attack speed. It will work well on Lee Sin alongside Volibear, or on Sona to increase the damage of Anivia, Aurelion Sol or Ao Shin.
While many units can carry the item combinations seen above, for some champions in TFT Set 7, specific item builds work better than others. Let's take a look at the specifics of these champions in this final part of our TFT builds items guide to set 7.
Although Diana does damage in TFT, her optimal item build is rather defensive. Her Assassin trait allows her to jump into the opponent's back line at the start of a fight. By placing her in the middle of the field, she finds herself close to a large number of enemies. To take advantage of this, equip her with items whose effect takes into account the distance to other units.
Firstly, as with tanks, Sunfire Cape burns enemies around it. Secondly, Frozen Heart and Ionic Spark respectively reduce attack speed by 30% and magic resistance by 50% for enemies within 2 hexes of the champion.
He is undoubtedly the best champion in set 7. Although he suffered a nerf with patch 12.12, Olaf is still very strong, especially with an Assassin's emblem alongside Diana.
In addition to the emblem, the two best items to equip on Olaf are Infinity Edge to inflict critical hits and Rapid Firecannon to gain 50% attack speed, but more importantly to increase the champion's range by one hex. With this item, you can place Olaf on one end of the field to prevent him from being targeted. If you want to use your items before you have Olaf, Yone can carry this item build in the meantime.
The champion Ragewing, Shapeshifter and Dragonmancer is wreaking havoc on the TFT set 7. His item build takes the two main items from the Carry builds with Guinsoo’s Rageblade and Archangel’s Staff.
Add to this Hand of Justice to improve your attack damage and power stats and get 15% vampirism. If you don't have the right item components, Statikk Shiv will be just as effective, as in addition to the 10% attack speed bonus, an electric discharge hits 4 enemies every 3 attacks. It inflicts 60 points of magic damage and reduces the magic resistance of all these targets by 50% for 5 seconds.
